About Usage Overview
Why Usage Overview exists.
It started with a familiar interruption: checking several AI tools just to see how much room was left before beginning the next task.
The idea
One place for the limits that affect your day.
Claude Code, Codex, and API accounts each show usage in their own way. Usage Overview brings the accounts you choose together on your iPhone, with reset times and widgets close at hand.
Stored on your device
Credentials go into the iOS Keychain. Usage data stays with the app and its widgets, and requests go to the selected provider.
Free Mac pairing
Usage Companion handles the desktop handoff when an account needs it. The iPhone app is where you view your usage.
How it works
How your information moves.
There is no Usage Overview account to create. The app reads usage from the provider you connect and stores the result locally.
You choose each account
Add only the providers and accounts you intend to monitor. Multiple accounts from the same provider remain separate.
The app reads directly from that provider
When Usage Overview refreshes an account, the request goes to the service that account belongs to. The app does not send your credentials through a Usage Overview server.
Your device keeps the result
Credentials are stored in the iOS Keychain. Usage figures and app preferences stay in the app’s local storage so the dashboard and widget can work together.
What comes next
More useful connections over time.
The first release focuses on the accounts already supported. Other services may be added when their usage data can be read reliably and their sign-in flow is appropriate for a local app.
