What to expect
You can add accounts directly on your iPhone when the provider supports it. Usage Companion exists for the desktop situations where a temporary QR handoff is both easier and safer.
The iPhone app is where you add accounts, view limits, refresh, and place widgets.
Open Usage Companion only when you want to transfer a supported desktop-held credential to your phone.
Scan each displayed QR code from the iPhone app. The pairing session is short-lived and the companion does not keep running afterward.
Start with Usage Overview on iPhone. Usage Companion is optional and only helps with certain pairing paths on macOS.
